Do you have your possession or do your possessions have you? Are you an unbridled capitalist or an unrepentant collectivist {Communist}? Those are the two extreme ends of the economic spectrum. There is another option, a third way in the middle, one where we hold our possessions lightly and graciously, knowing that everything and everyone ever created belongs to the Master and solely to the Master.
Therefore, if God should lead us {or command us} to leave it all behind or give it all away, ultimately we could and we would. The Way of Jesus is living alive to and out of His Kingdom, not the kingdoms of this world. The wealth of the world, personal prestige, our own enrichment, is seen for the fool's gold that it is, and from a heart of mercy and compassion we learn to care for everyone we encounter.
