We start with the Divine Ideal in Ephesians 5:21 that husbands and wives who are walking in step with the Spirit, overwhelmed by His presence and inundated by His influence, will willingly and joyfully submit to one another, surrendering themselves for the good their lover.

From there we move into vv. 22-24 and this incredible image of Eve's surrender / respect and Adam's leadership / love and how they paint a picture for the world of the unending love and undying intimacy Jesus has with His Church.

Oh Lord God, may we live this... and not just long for it!
