In this teaching we look at one of the most powerful yet overlooked aspects of forgiveness: Conflict Resolution in the Kingdom of Christ in Matthew 18:15-20. Jesus laid out for His Followers preciselyl how this is to work and exactly what we are to do when honest, humble, face-to-face encounters don't get the job done. And He taught His disciples this immediately prior to Peter's question concerning how many times he was to forgive a brother ..."Seven, Lord, seven. Is it seven? It's seven, isn't it?" LOL God bless him, ever eager to impress, wasn't he? It would be funny if we weren't so much like him.
Pastor Ric finishes this 3 lesson detour on the weight and glory of forgiveness by dealing with the oft-neglected issue of forgiving ourselves. Looking at our lives in the light of a holy and righteous God, being brutally honest about what we've done, the damage it's wrought, seeking to heal the damage done to others if possible, and trusting in the glorious Cross of Jesus Christ with everything we are ...that the God who redeemed and delivered the world through the Life, Death and Resurrection of His Son can take even our sins, mis-steps and mistakes and weave them into the tapestry of eternal beauty. And amen for that!
