Is this not the ultimate message of a faithful Father to all His Sons and Daughters... that His love never fails, never falters, will never fade away? And that if we will embrace His love, accept His acceptance, own His ownership of us in Christ, we never will either?

This bold statement of Paul's in v. 8 begins a section which continues through v. 12 and which is considered by some branches of evangelicalism to be one of those 'notoriously difficult passages.' What we find is that when you understand it within its context {'a text without a context is a pretext!'}, both literary and cultural, it's really not that difficult. Scholars may disagree on ultimate conclusions, but the interpretation should be pretty straightforward.

Unfortunately, for many it's anything but....
