How does Scripture describe a Community of Christians, an ekklesia? A distant body of believers who meet in a theological classroom for an hour or so on Sunday mornings, get their lecture, and return promptly to their cars, homes, and lives-- leaving utterly unchanged. Or as something more alive, more vibrant, more messy and infinitely more relational... a Community where burdens and joys alike are shared, lives, love, and laughter offered freely and openly, the strong parts of the Body lifting up the weak, and the weak parts of the Body teaching the strong mercy, kindness and compassion, money and materiel shared with the hurting, and faith deepening by the day?
