In ten short vv. from Matthew 6:25-34, at the very heart of His Discourse on the Hill, Jesus gives us seven different defenses against the suffocating sin of worry. He moves, brilliantly and effortlessly, from God as both Creator of the body and Sustainer of our lives to Provider for the birds and Artist of Eternity using flowers of crimson, blue, purple and scarlet to paint the hillsides of Palestine in glory not even kings can rival.
He challenges us, each and every one, to forsake worry over anything and everything and embrace His perfect provision, setting our hearts on one single priority: His Kingdom, His will, His righteousness in action, in our lives and others. No worries for tomorrow, my friend, for "each day has enough trouble of its own." Amen!
